We were tasked with designing a brand that resonates with young professionals working from home. We also designed and built an ecommerce store that showcases the businesses's modern and classic products.
Internet Hardware is a ecommerce store aimed at providing office accessories for young professionals working from home.
Like all projects, we start our discussion with an initial discovery meeting. The goal of this meeting is to get to know each other and gather information for us to complete a proper proposal. We make it easy for our clients by really understanding the right questions to ask them.
As always, we’re here to guide you through this process with recommendation and suggestions.
For Internet Hardware, the scope of work was a brand identity and an ecommerce store. We gathered all our information and presented a complete proposal. This includes each services broken down, as-well as estimated timelines and other associated costs to be aware of.
After our proposal is approved we start the branding process. This usually begins by researching trending styles within industries, competitors, and also finding other brands that represent what we believe this should also represent.
It’s common for us to create a few different mood boards. This gives the client options to choose from.
After deciding with the client on which mood board best represents the business we then start sketching the first design concepts. We usually present 2-3 design concepts for the client to pick from. We find that waiting a week before deciding and giving feedback is the best, this way you can ask employees or friends for feedback.
Revisions are made after the client has decided which logo to move forward with. We listen to feedback complete the requested changes can include different brand colors, change the wordmark font, small tweaks to the logo.
This is when we build the final brand guidelines that will be used within your company. It includes the logo and wordmark design, rules on how to use it, you color palettes, primary and secondary typography, and more. We also include some brandwork and mockups so you can really get a vision for your brand.
We transfer all the necessary design files so you can use them yourself along with the brand guidelines sent in pdf.
After finishing the branding, it’s now time to start the website process. This begins by briefly talking with our client to make sure no changes are needed to what we had previously discussed and priced in our proposal.
We create a simple sitemap design page to present to the client for review. This includes all the pages we’ll be designing and building as-well as the content. We understand that as a project grows some content will also change. We also add the navigation menu, this helps us create the appropriate pages.
From our sitemap design we then start to write and build the content. Depending on the project, this part usually requires some work from the client.
